Mining Camps
Mining work camps are becoming more sophisticated. Supporting at times hundreds of workers many miles from civilisation these camps are now beginning to deliver services equivalent to any regional hotel. Telephony, Internet, Videos on demand and satellite/subscriber TV are all part of the mix.
As services become more sophisticated the equipment to support them is increasing and dependence on it becoming more critical. DataBlox can provide the ideal infrastructure solution for housing this equipment.
Developing mines need to bring staff within close proximity of site works, this may require the shifting of camp sites over time. From initial surveying to full scale production and expansions large numbers of skilled workers will be housed in one or more accommodation centres. If production shifts from one area to the next the accommodation may also move.Traditionally equipment enpowering these sites is housed within spare accomodation or administration areas. Although this suffices it brings many challenges - redundancy and availability, security, capacity and scalability.

DataBlox also provides a strong and durable base for the attachment of satellite dishes or microwave towers. Attaching to the ISO mount points or stacked on top of the container, simplifying the install and any subsequent moves.
Where more than one service provider is delivering solutions to the camp, DataBlox provides the ability to segment racks and allocate to different providers, yet still retain control of ingress/egress power and data, just as you would in a regular data centre. Ideal for defining network boundaries and maintenance responsibilities at remote sites.
